Overview:

Barbecue Ribs are a popular dish in the United States, particularly in the southern states. They are slow-cooked and smoked ribs, often glazed with a tangy and sweet barbecue sauce.

Origin:
United States

Ingredients:

  • 1 rack of pork ribs (about 1.5 kg)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make It:

  1. Prepare the Ribs: Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to create a dry rub. Rub this mixture all over the ribs.
  2. Slow Cook the Ribs: Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover tightly with more foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender.
  3. Glaze the Ribs: Remove the ribs from the oven and brush them with barbecue sauce. Increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) or preheat a grill. Cook the ribs uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized.
  4. Serve: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
